Ceremonies of Apology:

Over the course of my life, I have observed that the energetic frequencies of apology and forgiveness create healing for individuals as well as for families. I believe it can be done on a larger scale for cultures. Imagine what would be possible if both the descendants of the victims and the perpetrators of the world’s holocausts came together in ceremony to heal together.

If we can apologize to acknowledge and at least symbolically assume responsibility for the harm that our ancestors have enacted, we empower ourselves to heal and release guilt. Apology makes forgiveness possible and opens the way for a more harmonious way of living with each other.

There is an energetic need for apology and forgiveness on a global scale. Some of the situations needing apology are the Native Americans for the wholesale theft of their land, lives and culture, the African Americans for slavery, and the Jews for the Holocaust of World War II just to mention a few. Ceremonies of apology and forgiveness addressing these people would have a huge influence on the healing of the earth and its inhabitants. It may even have an impact on the governments' current treatment of their victims to the extent of rectifying some of the damage. Australia's Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, for example, has made an apology motion to the Aboriginal people for each of the crimes that the government has committed against them.
